Chris Lowder, Ed.D., Educational Leadership

Dr. Chris Lowder recently served as superintendent of Cabarrus County Schools for six years.   Chris brings a wealth of knowledge from a leadership and insider’s point of view of the daily operations of a school district from his vast experience as a public-school educator including serving as an English teacher, assistant principal, principal, director of high schools, executive director of school operations, and assistant/deputy superintendent of administrative services.

Dr. Lowder earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from UNC Chapel Hill, a Master’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from UNC Charlotte and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNC Charlotte.  He was named the Southwest Regional Superintendent of the year in 2019 and served on the Executive Board of the North Carolina Superintendent Association from 2018-2021.  Dr. Lowder has published an article in The High School Journal and has presented at numerous conferences.
